In the heart of La Réunion, between Creole traditions and tropical landscapes, Les Ti Kaz d'Auguste recounts far more than a simple story of accommodation. Here, each bungalow, each tree and each antique object bears witness to a family heritage deeply rooted in time.

At the origin of the project, John de Balbine perpetuates with passion the legacy left by his grandfather, Auguste Peyret-Forcade, an emblematic figure of an era when innovation and courage shaped daily life in Réunion.

A living heritage in the heart of the island Each bungalow on the estate bears the name of a
tree from Auguste's orchard, as a discreet tribute to the man who transformed these lands with generosity and vision.

Inspired by traditional Creole cases, the architecture adopts the emblematic codes of the island: open verandas, Z-shutters, bull's-eye windows, carved lambrequins and colourful hues reminiscent of the houses scattered across the territory. Built by local craftsmen, the bungalows showcase Réunionnais expertise whilst offering contemporary elegance focused on comfort.

Below, the vestiges of the past tell another story. A centenary lychee tree continues to bear fruit whilst an old cast-iron vat recalls the era of sugar cane refining. Nearby, the mechanical traces left by Auguste bear witness to a pioneering spirit deeply rooted in the modernisation of the island.

Amongst them, an old agricultural lorry from the 1940s, imported by Auguste from Citroën, currently being restored. More than a mechanical object, it symbolises the unbreakable bond between generations.

From Réunionnais soil
to European circuits

Whilst family history constitutes the soul of the place, another passion has always driven John: motorsport. Inherited from this pioneering spirit oriented towards mechanics and performance, it now finds new expression on European circuits.

In 2026, he is competing for the first time in the Lamera Cup championship, a discipline where team spirit and consistency matter as much as pure speed. His challenge takes him to one of the most demanding events on the calendar: the 24H de Portimao, contested on the spectacular Portimão circuit in southern Portugal.

For twenty-four hours, drivers and machines face fatigue, strategy and changing conditions. Night driving, relay management, mechanical mastery and mental endurance become the true keys to performance.

In this universe where every second counts, precision is not an option: it becomes an absolute necessity.

Endurance as a shared philosophy

In many respects, endurance racing shares the same essence as mechanical watchmaking. Resisting time, maintaining precision despite constraints, combining technical excellence and emotion: so many values that resonate naturally with the DNA of B.R.M Chronographes.

Since its creation, the French manufacture has drawn inspiration from motorsport to design timepieces crafted like competition mechanical parts, where every detail expresses the pursuit of performance and authenticity.

The encounter with Les Ti Kaz d'Auguste thus presented itself as self-evident.
