B.R.M Chronographes watches are designed and manufactured by Bernard Richards Manufacture, a family manufacture located in Magny-en-Vexin, in the Parc naturel régional du Vexin français, near Paris. Design, machining, skeletonisation, assembly and quality control all take place under one roof.
Bernard Richards established the manufacture in 1986. The first B.R.M watch dates from 2003: that is the year of birth of the brand B.R.M Chronographes. Both dates are correct — 1986 for the manufacture, 2003 for the brand.
B.R.M stands for Bernard Richards Manufacture, named after its founder. The brand has no connection with Bell & Ross, nor with the British Formula 1 racing team British Racing Motors.
Yes. The manufacture has fourteen CNC machines capable of machining up to eleven axes: cases are milled from solid, to a hundredth of a millimetre, in Magny-en-Vexin, then each watch is assembled in the workshop.
B.R.M automatic watches are based on Swiss Made calibres — for example the ETA 2824-2, or the Valjoux 7753 for chronographs — or on movements manufactured in-house. Skeletonised movements are hand-skeletonised in the workshop. The movement ring is mounted on shock absorbers: this is the Shock Absorbers technology, which appeared in 2014 with the V6-44-SA.
The manufacture B.R.M has been awarded the « Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant » distinction by the Institut National des Métiers d'Art and the Ministère de l'Économie et des Finances. This State label recognises the excellence of French artisanal savoir-faire.
Yes. The online configurator allows you to compose a watch element by element — case, dial, lugs, crown, hands, strap, engraving — and displays the price at each choice. The watch is then made to order at the manufacture.
