The world of aviation and mechanical precision meet in an exciting partnership between B.R.M Chronographes and Loic Lovicourt, a skilled aerobatic pilot. Loic, also a Senior Civil Aviation Technician and air traffic controller, has an impressive 950 hours of flight experience. However, his true expertise shines in the sky as an instructor since 2018, a federal coach, and a high-level athlete since 2014, with a career in aerobatics dating back to 2006.

Loic Lovicourt has been active in the world of aerobatics for many years. He proudly represented France from 2014 to 2017 in the Advanced category and continued to excel in Unlimited in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and most recently in 2023. His impressive achievements include a 3rd place at the 2023 Open de France Unlimited and a 7th place at the European Unlimited Championships that same year. It’s clear that Loic is a talented pilot, determined to push the limits of aerobatic performance.

In addition to his aviation achievements, Loic Lovicourt is also a proud ambassador of French aeronautics, hailing from Cherbourg. He discovered his passion for flying and aerobatics during his stay on Réunion Island. Since then, he has climbed the ranks of competitive flying to reach the highest level and take part in international events. His career as an air traffic controller allows him to stay connected to his passion on a daily basis.

We recently had the opportunity to ask Loic Lovicourt three questions about his partnership with B.R.M Chronographes:

Loic, can you tell us about the parallels you see between precision watchmaking and aerobatic flying?

Loic Lovicourt: "The parallels between precision watchmaking and aerobatics are fascinating. Both fields require absolute mastery of time and extreme precision. In aerobatics, every maneuver must be executed with impeccable timing, which is our greatest point in
common. Additionally, resistance to both positive and negative G-forces is crucial—just like a timepiece’s reliability under extreme conditions. B.R.M Chronographes provides me with a watch designed to meet these demands, which is essential in my profession."

Did you have any concerns about wearing your watch during flight, and its ability to withstand the extreme forces encountered in aerobatics?

Loic Lovicourt: "At first, I was unsure about wearing a watch during aerobatic flights, especially after previous experiences that weren’t very positive. The G-forces we endure can be intense, and most watches simply aren’t made
