Golf
Six springs to absorb the swing: how B.R.M protects an automatic calibre on the course.
A golf swing imposes a sudden acceleration followed by a sharp impact, which the wrist transmits to the movement. B.R.M has designed its Golf watches, GF6 (44 mm) and GF7 (38 mm), around the Shock Absorbers system: six steel helical springs, three at the front and three at the back, suspend the automatic calibre and absorb the shock before it reaches it.
Repeated vibrations and shocks misalign the pivots, fatigue the balance and impair the precision of a mechanical calibre. This is why one often removes one's automatic watch before playing.
Rather than anchoring the calibre in the case, B.R.M allows it to float. Six helical steel springs encase the movement: three on the front face, three on the back face, spaced at 120° so that the absorption is the same regardless of the direction of impact. The case absorbs the impact, the springs absorb it, the calibre remains in place.
The three front springs pass through the dial: they can be seen at 12 o'clock, 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock. On the Golf watches, they are lacquered in the colour of the watch.
The system was introduced by B.R.M in 2014 with the V6-44-SA. The house indicates more than 5,000 equipped watches in circulation. The system and the models that carry it are registered with the INPI.
On the GF6 skeletonised in carbon, the specification describes a "full-floating" balance wheel, composed of a self-regulating mass and six shock absorbers.
On the GF6 and GF7, the lacquer of the case, the springs, the hands and the holes in the strap use the same colour: apple green, red, orange, blue, depending on the version. The tang buckle is lightened, machined from solid and composed of nine parts.
The GF6 in carbon weighs 80 g. The straps are interchangeable: 22 × 19 mm lug width on the GF6, 20 × 17 mm on the GF7, with compatible straps from the collection.
All Golf watches have a sapphire crystal above and below and water resistance of 100 metres. The cases are machined from solid at Magny-en-Vexin, then hand-assembled. 3-year guarantee.
The same system equips the V6-44-SA and V12-46-SA, worn by racing drivers, tennis players and aerobatic pilots.

Yes, if the movement is protected from the shocks of the swing. B.R.M Golf watches suspend their calibre on six shock absorbers.
The GF6 measures 44 mm and houses an ETA 2824-2 calibre; the GF7 measures 38 mm, houses an ETA 2671 calibre and has its crown on the left.
Yes, to 100 metres, with sapphire crystal top and bottom.
